Two short updates from Silwan

1. The Mayor of Jerusalem sends his inspectors to a “Threat Tour” in Silwan. The inspectors, escorted by the police, entered Silwan yesterday (the 24th of February), and gave approx. 8 “warnings” for illegal construction of Palestinians. Those orders are not demolition orders, but are warnings, saying that they might issue a demolition order in the future.
This action, in my view, is pretty much similar to the “Price Tag” policy of the settlers, saying: “if you force me to act and seal off the settlers’ “Beit Yonatan” house, I will make sure that the Palestinians will pay the price, and will have their homes demolished too”.

2. Also yesterday (the 24th of February), a new hole was created by a collapse of part of the main road of Silwan, at the same area where the road collapsed last month.
